I Want It, I Need It!
In business scarcity is an effective principal of persuasion.

Throughout the clothing and apparel industry we find scarcity to be an effective tool in persuasion.
Whenever a brand offers only a select amount of a certain product to the public it becomes a scarcity. In business, we have found that this product, if marketed correctly, will sell out and be in high demand as people seem to want what they can't have. These items are unique, provide benefits to image and perhaps popularity. The public is easily persuaded to purchase these unnecessary items as in their scarcity they become more valuable. Within this, we also find creativity and scarcity within new designs as teams are given more creative freedom to produce a limited amount of unique product (less risk in investment but great rewards).
"Many creative people are finding that creativity doesn't grow in abundance, it grows from scarcity - the more Lego bricks you have doesn't mean you're going to be more creative; you can be very creative with very few Lego bricks." -Jorgen Vig Knudstorp
