Key factors of Crisis Planning in Business

Highlighted as ongoing on the checklist are two very important factors of planning for a potential crisis. The first I believe to be crucial is Identifying any current or potential threat the company may be facing. The reason being, one can only prepare to the greatest extent of his or her knowledge ( we use the collective knowledge of the company). When we identify or forecast for potential threats and crises we face it allows us to remain that step ahead. For example, with pandemic restrictions, companies that predicted the effects of some of the government's restrictions and requirements fared better. Other companies did not, and as a result, close down. Perhaps their crisis management plan perhaps was not in good practice or even made. Of course, it is hard to plan for things that haven't happened yet, of which effects are unknown, it is crucial that companies plan and revise that plan if needed. Identifying the threats your company is facing and may face could determine your success, failure, or effectiveness in the business.

The Second important factor of crisis management I have chosen to discuss is standardizing company platforms. This is crucial as it ensures that you are sending out the right message to people and employees. When the message is standardized and unified among all platforms it will help limit and perhaps to some extent eliminate confusion. it can clear up the viewpoint the company has on things such as health practices of wearing masks in all stores and sanitizing. This could also provide uniform information company-wide to all employees reinforcing these health codes at every level. By standardizing a companies platforms it eliminates the question....well how could we have known, or I'm unsure on how to handle this situation. Standardization of platforms is crucial in crisis planning.
