Good Leaders Encourage the Team
A response to the Leadership Communication Prompt on Making People Feel Valued (Email from a Sales Manager)
"What I have learned is that people become motivated when you guide them to the source of their own power and when you make heroes out of employees who personify what you want to see in the organization." - Anita Roddick
A Great Manager
Something that can make a manager stand out from the rest is one that encourages it s staff versus discouraging it. Who takes notice of the talents and skills of the people beneath their direction and acknowledges their value. when workers feel valued and noticed it will drive their motivation, which in turn positively affects the company and company culture.
This is why I chose to write an email from a Sales manager to her staff encouraging and acknoledging their hard work.
Here it is again for reading purposes:
Hi Sales Team
I'm writing to thank you all for your diligence and drive to meet this month's sales quotas and discuss aspects of next month. Every team member gave 100% even with the new restrictions, policies, and unexpected delays in shipments. The skill level displayed showed me just how valuable each and every member of the team is. This next month, as you all know, we will be facing some new challenges due to further restrictions implemented by the government due to the pandemic. However, I have full confidence in each of your abilities to work as a team and as individuals to meet these. I am very proud to be your leader. Each of you has been meeting challenges in your areas of work and I want you to know I am there to support you with anything you may need. If you feel overwhelmed or need help getting stuff together, simply let me know and I will try to meet that need. Once again, thank you everybody for all that you do to keep this company and this team working together. Sincerely, Candice Stevens, Sales Manager
